Katy Perry’s Christmas Tree Is Owl-Themed for The Best Reason Ever: Listen

Step aside, Santa, Katy Perry is officially kween of Christmas! The American Idol judge and songstress phoned into On Air With Ryan Seacrest on Friday, December 6, ahead of her iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour stop in Los Angeles and dished this holiday season she and fiancé Orlando Bloom are all about owls.

“My decorations this year are mild; they’re not crazy, they’re not over the top, they’re very tasteful,” Katy, who we all know loves a theme, shared wth Seacrest on-air. “I like plaid ribbon and lots of greens and lots of live things and owls.”

Yes, owls.

“We love owls because they’re full of wisdom,” Katy explained of the decision to have an "Owl-themed tree" this year. “Owls are very symbolic and beautiful and they’re these tokens of wisdom,” she added. “Owls are a little bit of our family animal.”

And to get in the holiday spirit, the songstress released Christmas song “Cozy Little Christmas” along with an accompanying music video just in time for Saint Nick.

“It’s very fun,” Perry dished of the holiday jam. “Basically [it’s] a take on what does Santa do after he’s done serving the world all these presents? How does he relax?” In the merry video, Perry portrays Santa’s “second wife," naturally.

“It’s going to be kooky Christmas, not classic Christmas,” Perry concluded, teasing her fourth KIIS FM Jingle Ball performance. “I put the K in kook.”
