Khloe Kardashian may be living the single life, but her kids don't know that.
On the recent episode of The Kardashians, the Good American co-founder was speaking to her best friend Malika Haqq when she revealed that her and ex Tristan Thompson's 6-year-old daughter True thinks the pair "are married," per People. Kardashian, who dated Thompson off and on for a few years before splitting in 2021, also shares 2-year-old son Tatum with her ex.
After Haqq said that the idea is "probably better for her" at the moment given she's likely too young to "really understand" her parents' relationship, Kardashian agreed, adding that she wants to set a good example for her daughter: "It is the right thing to do. In my opinion. Get married, have kids. That's what I want to teach her."
She expanded on the complicated dynamic in a confessional, admitting that she does worry that it will impact her daughter's view of marriage.
"True thinks that me and Tristan are married. The only thing that bothers me about that would be I don't want True going through life thinking this is what a marriage is," she said. "That you're married to someone and they don't live with you and you never have to kiss them, or you don't sleep in the same bed together."
Kardashian said that she doesn't have any set plans for revealing the truth but knows it's a conversation they will have to have in the future. Until then, she's doing what she thinks is best for her children.
"I would love my kids to see me have a husband one day, and I would love them to see love and affection and romance. I do want them to have that," she said. "And when she's older, I can explain it to her. But right now, I believe you do things for your kids because kids should not be involved in adult problems."
