Back in December, Teresa Guidice confirmed she and her husband of 20 years, Joe Guidice, decided to separate. The decision to end their relationship comes after Joe was deported to Italy from the United States after his 41 month prison sentence for mail, wire and bankruptcy fraud came to an end.
During the upcoming Real Housewives of New Jersey reunion Teresa will elaborate on the end of her marriage for the first time. In a tense preview clip, host Andy Cohen grilled Teresa about whether or not she was still attracted to her husband. Last October, Teresa told Andy she wanted to see if the spark was still there between her and Joe when they reunited in Italy in November 2019. Unfortunately for the once happy couple, Terese didn't think the spark was there anymore.
“Were you attracted to him when you saw him?” Andy asked in the clip. In response Teresa shook her head to indicate that she did not. Andy then followed up by asking Teresa if she had sex with Joe when she traveled to Italy. “No,” Teresa replied. “Thank god [our youngest daughter] Audriana slept with me every night. She was supposed to stay with one of her sisters but she wanted to stay with me, so it was a good c—kblocker.” Teresa said Joe “was not happy" she rejected him. “You know, a guy when you say no to him …”
Teresa also added that her feelings for Joe began to change when her mother passed away in 2017 at the age of 66. Her death came a little over a year after Teresa was released from prison. She served 11 months for fraud—the same case for which Joe served 41 months in prison. "Everything just changed after I lost my mom,” she explained. “I just became very resentful and that’s I think when it died out.”
Teresa's brother, Joe Gorga, also appears in the RHONJ reunion clip. He told Andy that Teresa and Joe's prison sentences took a fatal toll on his mother. “How much stress do you think my mother went under when my sister went away, right? Just think about that. She was sick too. She had arthritis and she would go every week [to visit Teresa in prison].”
Though Theresa and Joe have separated, they have "no plans for divorce" at the moment. Right now, "both of them are focused" on making sure their four daughters, Gia, Gabriella, Milania and Audriana, are doing alright.
