Selena Gomez Chokes Back Tears Reminiscing About Her Childhood In Texas

Selena Gomez isn't afraid to get completely candid.

On Friday (January 17), the “Look At Her Now” singer participated in the UK's Capital FM's “Reflections” series on YouTube and things got emotional.

In the segment, the 27-year-old singer sat in front of an illuminated mirror and answered reflective questions that were sealed in envelopes. She opened up about the first song she's ever loved, her ultimate dream (saving people's lives through music if you were wondering), and the song that reminds her of being in love.

About halfway through the video, she reads the card that says, “a song that reminds you of where you're from.”

He answer? Miranda Lambert's ”The House That Built Me.”

While discussing the song, Gomez thought back on her time living in Texas as a child and it became a very emotional moment for her where she can visibly be seen choking back tears.

“There's some lyrics that say, you know, I think my handprints on the cement… in the backyard where her dog was buried. That's all actually true for me,” she explained. I had when I was five, my handprints, we had a little shed in the backyard. The first dog that I had with my mom we did have to bury. It was very simple in Texas growing up.”

While she's grabbing the next card, Gomez looks up and her eyes are teary — can I just HUG YOU PLEASE!

The singer also revealed in the video that she wishes she wrote two Adele songs, Send My Love (To Your New Lover)” and “Hello.” She also joked that she “will never touch and Adele song” in her life and try and sing it.

The whole candid video is an emotional roller coaster so grab the tissues before hitting play!

Speaking of emotional, Sel released her new album, Rare, and it's chock full of songs that'll hit you straight in the feels.
