Alessia Cara released a brand new music video for her latest single "Growing Pains" and you won't be able to only watch it once. Throughout the intense visual, the singer goes on an adulthood course of sorts, as she tries to transition into becoming a grown woman.
"She begins her journey entirely alone, lying in the center of a tarp-covered floor in a warehouse space, lost and wearing an oversized grey t-shirt dress," Billboard reports. "The atmosphere quickly becomes more dystopian as the other players in the video appear -- grey-suited and corporate, mask-wearing adults who are intercepting her every move."
"Growing Pains" will be featured on Cara's upcoming second studio album titled The Pains of Growing. The singer debuted the song on Monday (June 18) night on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon." And of course, Fallon and his audience absolutely loved the performance.
"Make my way through the motions, I try to ignore it/ But home's looking farther the closer I get," she sings so beautifully on the beat. "Don't know why I can't see the end/ Is it over yet? Hmm/ A short leash and a short fuse don't match/ They tell me it ain't that bad, now don't you overreact/ So I just hold my breath, don't know why/ I can't see the sun when young should be fun."
