Sam Smith isn't exactly "way too good at goodbyes."

The 26-year-old singer recently opened up about his break-up with his ex-boyfriend Brandon Flynn, admitting he hasn't quite gotten over their split. “Brandon was wonderful,” Sam told The Times UK. “I’m still trying to figure out what I took from that relationship and what it meant to me. It’s still quite raw." He added, "All my relationships have ended in a nice way, never nasty.”

While Sam said he wanted to keep other details about their relationship private, he acknowledged that his relationship with the 13 Reasons Why star, who he dated for eight months, was significant for a number of reasons. “Seeing gay relationships [in a public way] is important and refreshing," he said. "You don’t see it loads.”

While Sam continues to go through the emotions of his breakup, he said he's focusing on his music career more than ever. “Right now, the thought of getting into a relationship is too much. I just want to marry my job, work really hard and hopefully, when I’m not looking for [love], it will come,” he shared.

Despite not being in a relationship or looking for one the "Nirvana" singer basically admitted he's the perfect boyfriend when he is dating someone. “I love sending flowers, leaving notes around the house and making thoughtful presents," he said. "I feel like I’m in a Richard Curtis film all the time. Which is bad, because I think everything should be like a movie and I get anxiety when it’s not.”

Last weekend, the "Too Good At Goodbyes" singer was forced to cancel his performance at the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Festival due to "unforeseen circumstances which transpired after rehearsal." "It became clear that I’m sadly unable to perform at the iHeart Radio Music Festival in Vegas tonight," he tweeted hours before he was set to take the iHeart stage. "I am so so sorry about this and I want to apologise to all my fans. All my love, always. Sam x."

He gave fans an update on his condition the following day. "Hello beautiful people. Thank you for all your lovely messages. Just been to see my voice doctor in Boston after last night’s scare in Vegas," he wrote on Instagram. "Everything is luckily ok but I just need to rest it this week in preparation for the start of Asia tour next week. I’m sorry again everyone. All my love, Sam xx."
