Kevin Federline Wants Three Times More In Child Support From Britney Spears

Britney Spears is pushing back on her ex-husband Kevin Federline's request for "at least three times the amount" of child support, as per a new update in their longtime financial war.

As per the update, Federline asked a judge to up his $20,000 per month figure in child support, so his two children with the star can receive the same treatment with him that they receive with her. In his claims, he stated that he only pulls in $3,000 a month in income as a DJ and that's unfair in relation to Spears' reported $34 million per year income. Back in February, Federline filed court documents requesting an increase in child support payments from the pop star. Just a month later, Federline reportedly "flatly rejected" the proposal.

Still, Team Britney is fighting back on Federline's allegations. "Britney spends no more on the boys than he does," a source told TMZ. "He's barely getting by because he has to support three additional kids and his wife and himself on funds Brit gives him for their two kids. The law is that both parents are to contribute to their children's support. Where is his contribution?"

On Tuesday (May 22), Federline's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, told Us Weekly that the pop star's legal team have yet to meet the conditions his client is seeking in the case. "We gave them ample time and opportunity to settle Kevin’s child support modification increase, and they came back with conditions that are not reasonable," Kaplan told the outlet. "It's their position that they don’t have to turn over Britney’s financial information, including tax returns, which is required under the California family code. It’s not California celebrity code edition, she has to comply."
